Why yards work with us

Recruitment that knows the sport

Generalist agencies place people who can technically do the job. We place people who understand horsemanship, the season, and what it takes to keep a yard running properly through Badminton or Cheltenham.

  • I.
Equine sole specialismWe don’t recruit for anything else. Every candidate is vetted for hands-on experience, qualifications where relevant, and the ability to work through a proper season.
  • II.
References that countReferences from a previous head girl, trainer or yard manager, not a corporate HR system. We know who to ring and what to ask.
  • III.
Accommodation-awareMost yard vacancies come with tied accommodation. We match on the accommodation setup, family situation and travel expectations, not just the role.
  • IV.
90-day replacementEvery direct-hire placement carries a sliding replacement window. If the hire does not settle, we re-run the search on the published schedule.

What we hand you

  • I.A written brief with the role, the yard’s standard and the accommodation setup.
  • II.Three to five ranked candidates with our written notes on each.
  • III.Verified references from a real horseperson who worked with them.
  • IV.Confirmed availability, notice period and start-date realism.
  • V.Coordinated trial-day visits where the role calls for one.
  • VI.A 30 and 90-day check-in after start.
How a search runs

From brief to first day, three considered stages

The season shapes the timing. The workflow stays the same on every mandate: a proper brief, a considered search, ranked candidates.

I.

Yard brief

A 45-minute call or yard visit. We capture the role, the standard, the string size, the competition or breeding calendar, the accommodation setup and the timeline. Written brief for sign-off before we start.

II.

Search and vet

We approach the network and the active market. Every candidate is spoken to about horsemanship, qualifications, current yard, competition experience and references. Trial visits arranged where useful.

III.

Shortlist and settle

Ranked shortlist of three to five candidates with written notes. Trial-day coordination, offer support, start-date logistics and settle-in check-ins at day 30 and day 90.
